Meydan Dubai has evolved into a cohesive, family-friendly neighbourhood from its original reputation as a horse racing track. The Arabic word for a meeting place is the source of the name Meydan. Part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City, the neighborhood was designed in accordance with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
